Frequently Asked Questions

Can you paint something from a photo?

Absolutely. The more visual materials you have to inspire the project the easier it is for the artist to create.

How far will you travel?

Depending on the size of the project, something can be worked out for nearly any situation, even if it requires lodging or creating a mural on canvas and shipping it. Geography has no limitations. Typically work is performed within the chicagoland area and suburbs.

What if I'm not sure what I want?

The senior design consultant will meet with you and view your home. At that time he can present a wide range of suggestions that could work with your present design scheme. Based on these early ideas, we will come up with several different options that you can view and choose from.

Do I have to be there all the time when you are working?

It is best if someone is home when the project begins so that all the different aspects of the project can be discussed . After work is under way and a normal daily schedule is in place, it is not always necessary for the homeowner to be present. Some homeowners even feel comfortable enough to provide a key or garage code so that work can be performed while they are away. References are available upon request

How do you charge?

Each project is quoted according to the amount of time it will take to complete. A price range is usually established before preliminary sketches are completed. After viewing the design options, you will have the option to choose which features you would like. Final price will be assessed at that time. The number of days the project will take depends on the size and complexity of the project. The design consultant will quote the number of days the project will take multiplied by a daily rate, plus the cost of materials. Rooms that require scaffolding will require additional charges.

How do you handle payment?

The first portion of payment is due upon the signing of the contract. This will function as a deposit and is usually the cost of materials plus one-third the cost of labor. The remaining two-thirds cost of labor is due upon completion of the project.

How do I know I will like it when its done?

Before the project is even started our design consultant will complete a color sketch for you on board that will function as a guideline for the completion of the project. You will be able to see, in detail, the way the project will look before we even touch your wall. In the event that there has been miscommunication, we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and will work to ensure that you are completely happy with your custom artwork.

What kind of paint do you use? Will it be durable?

All the work that Walls With Imagination does is completed in Sherwin Williams Proffesional Grade Interior Wall Paint. This paint is a durable wall sealant as well as a beautiful colorfast accent to your home. It has a flat finish and will not fade or flake off.
